Day Six: Carb Resistance

Today was the first day that I woke up thinking about carbs. Seriously--I was all, "Mmmmm, some pancakes sound awesome." Lol. I didn't snap and eat pancakes, but I wanted to like nobody's business. Tonight was Family Movie Night at our house, which means pizza, and it's also Jason's birthday, which means delicious chocolate cake, of which I had none.

Thank goodness, I had plenty of other options at my disposal. Once I reach my goals and am in maintenance mode, an occasional cheat day for a birthday or something will be totally ok, but NOT during a weight loss challenge, and certainly not in the first two week, no-carb, no-sugar phase!

In other news, I had to skip my lunchtime walk today--it was an early release day at Kieran's school, so I had to go pick him up. I still got all my steps in, but no pretty pictures from walking today.

Today's Log:
Exercise: 
  • I tried to go to a Zumba class at the Apex gym with Tameka, but she was out of town, and there was an unannounced change to a gruelingly intense class called Reggae Madness--I made it through the whole hour class, but whew!
  • Day 6 of the 30 Day Abs Challenge (35 sit-ups, 15 leg raises, 15 crunches, 25 second plank)
Nutrition:
  • Breakfast: omelet with leftover grilled veggies, turkey, and cheese, hot tea with 2% milk and 1/2 tsp raw sugar, cup of milk
  • Lunch: turkey and cheese roll-ups, hummus and veggies
  • Dinner:sauteed zucchini with peppers and onions, baked chicken, and a Caesar salad
  • Snacks: hot tea (2 bags) with 2% milk and 1 tsp raw sugar, cup of milk, 24 almonds, 1 babybel cheese
